I just read this article about building connections and bridges with others, written by Kent Beck. I received it via email from a Substack newsletter, and got hooked by the intro.
It's so sad that intro, the story. It's one of the biggest fears any parent carries, and reading about it really moved me. But what made me share it was what came next, the path of learning how to build connections. It's a really interesting read for me. Maybe because it's another example of the power of learning.
There's a Portuguese saying: "ninguém nasce ensinado", which can be translated to "No one is born knowing everything.". This is very obviously true in regards to technical things, but it's important to know that it is also true for other things... like connecting with others.
There are lots of articles out there about how humans are becoming lonelier... but fear not, because there's hope. :)
